Leisure: Sanya Serenity Marina Receives Gold Anchor Award
On the 24th March 2015, Chapman Taylor designed Sanya Serenity Marina received the Marina Industries Association (MIA) Gold Anchor Award, with the highest possible rating. It was presented to the Marina Club in Hainan, China, by MIA President Andrew Chapman for its excellent facilities and service. It joins an elite, global group of marinas that have achieved this prestigious status.
The Gold Anchor Award was created to rate marinas and help the boating public determine which marinas that had the best facilities and services. Having recently signed a contract with the London based Yacht Harbour Association, the Gold Anchor Marina Rating Scheme will become the global award for international marinas.
Serenity Marina is widely recognised as the best professional sailing marina in China. It not only provides excellent boat mooring facilities but also a combination of marine culture and entertainment facilities. It has hosted the Volvo Round the World Yacht Race twice being the only Asian stopover host-port for the Volvo Ocean Racing Series.
Chapman Taylor Shanghai worked on the scheme from the early design stages and were the lead architects on the project delivering the masterplan, architectural design and landscape development. Our design studio in Shanghai is recognised as one of the leading international practices in China with a porfolio of award-winning work across mixed-use schemes, marina and waterfront developments as well as many retail, leisure, workplace and hotel buildings.
