Level 10, Orange Building, shortlisted for a prestigious BCO Regional Award
We are delighted to announce that the fit-out of the 10th floor of the Orange Building at MediaCity, Salford, Manchester, has been shortlisted for the 'Projects up to 2,500m²' category at the esteemed Regional British Council for Offices (BCO) Awards. Competing in the North of England, North Wales, and Northern Ireland region, the space is a testament to cutting-edge workplace innovation and design.
The 16,000 sqft workspace offers breathtaking panoramic views of MediaCity and the Manchester skyline while providing an inspiring, flexible environment designed to meet the diverse needs of modern businesses. From thoughtful planning to seamless delivery by Consensus, every detail has been curated to ensure occupiers can move into a space that fosters creativity, productivity, and engagement.
This project, designed by Chapman Taylor, has been tailored to support today's evolving workplace trends. The space features a vibrant mix of materials and layouts to create a truly dynamic setting, further elevating MediaCity’s reputation as a leading hub for business and creativity.
A judges' visit is set for 21st February 2025 to evaluate the project within this competitive category. Winners will be announced on 3rd April 2025, at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester.

Covid cognisant – Enforced ‘working from home’ has had a profound influence on the workplace. Lessons learnt see the retention of the positive practices whilst allowing workplace design to focus on supporting the activities that impacted on remote working.
ESG Agenda – Sustainability and well-being criteria are profoundly affecting the workplace. Embodied and in-use carbon critically influence the construction of workplace environments, resulting in the prominence of adapting existing spaces and the re-use of materials. User empowerment to choose how and where they undertake activities is essential in supporting people's mental, reflecting their neurodiversity and different needs.
This project reflects the demands on the current workplace that have developed over the past few years. The desire for flexible workplace settings, delivered in informal and quirky environments, has created the need for spaces with personality. It demonstrates the potential for MediaCityUK to be the home for young, dynamic, and flexible businesses.
