MEDIACITYUK PHASE 2 WINS ‘PLANNING PERMISSION OF THE YEAR 2017’ AWARD

Phase 2 of Peel Media’s MediaCityUK at Salford Quays, UK, which secured planning consent in September last year has picked up ‘Planning Permission of the Year 2017’ at the UK Planning Awards. 

The awards recognise outstanding professional planning work in placemaking, urban design, economic development, housing regeneration, legal advice and environmental consulting.

Planning consultants NJL Consulting collected the award run by ‘Planning’ magazine at a prestigious ceremony at the Savoy Hotel in London on the 21st June. According to the Judge’s Report the Team’s approach to partnership working and collaboration with Salford City Council was highlighted as the key reason for the award.

Chapman Taylor was responsible for masterplanning the 211,000 sqm mixed-use scheme, coordinating the work of six other architects across eight development plots and we are also designing three of the plots.
