Mixed use: Green light for the PLAZA in Munich’s Werksviertel, Germany
On 14 December 2016, the City of Munich approved the urban development contract and the new zoning plan for the Werksviertel district, which also includes the mixed-used project PLAZA Grafinger Strasse.
The former industrial precinct in close proximity to the railway station, Munich-East, will be transformed to a new hot-spot for urban living, working, entertainment and culture.
Chapman Taylor's Düsseldorf studio has been appointed by R&S Immobilienmanagement GmbH, a subsidiary of Rhode & Schwarz, to develop a mixed-used project including retail, offices, a hotel, a boarding house, physio and sports facilities, a boulder climbing centre and a two-level underground carpark on a 7,340 sqm site.
The building application was submitted on December 19, start of construction is scheduled for mid-2017 and completion for 2019.
