NOI Techpark and Mui Dinh Ecopark shortlisted for global MIPIM Awards
Chapman Taylor is delighted to report that two of our projects have made the shortlist at this year’s MIPIM Awards.
NOI Techpark in Bolzano, Italy, is nominated in the “Best Refurbished Building” category, while Mui Dinh Ecopark is among the contenders for “Best Futura Mega-Project”. There are four finalists in each of the 11 categories, selected from a field of 227 entries from 55 countries.
The MIPIM Awards ceremony is a prestigious event held every year at the MIPIM property exhibition, a four-day gathering of influential names from across the global property industry. MIPIM attracts over 24,000 participants, with over 3,000 exhibitors, 360 speakers and over 100 conference events. The awards honour the very best projects from around the world, across building development sectors.
The NOI (Nature of Innovation) Techpark project in Bolzano involved the refurbishment of two rationalist-style factory buildings and the construction of a new one as an architectural bridge between the existing structures. The new complex, opened in October 2017, is designed to house a wide range of innovation companies, university research institutions and training centres, with the aim of becoming an engine for economic development throughout the whole South Tyrol region
Chapman Taylor’s Milan studio conceived and designed the new technology park in collaboration with Studio CL&AA. The project has LEED v4 Neighbourhood Development sustainability certification.
Set on a beautiful site on the east coast of Vietnam, the 1.4 million m² Mui Dinh Ecopark is an unrivalled hospitality-led, mixed-use development, with a design concept inspired by the area’s rich local history. Six resort hotels and a boutique hotel provide a total of 7,000 rooms, while 500 ocean-facing villas are also included, with all residents served by a leisure offering which includes a theme park, a casino, a beach club and a mountain clubhouse.
Chapman Taylor’s Bangkok studio devised the concept masterplan for this ecologically sustainable and educational development. The Vietnamese government approved the urban plan for Mui Dinh in 2017.
This year’s MIPIM exhibition take place at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from March 13th to 16th, with the awards ceremony occurring on Thursday March 15th.
Congratulations to those involved in these striking projects for this well-deserved honour.
