Crystal City, Dead Sea, Jordan
The 153,000m² GBA Crystal City lies on a superb site at the mouth of the Wadi Ma’in at the Dead Sea, with views into a dramatic gorge and over the sea. A mixed-use development, it is planned as a major tourist destination for Jordan. The gated residential component is at the south of the site, with a 5-Star hotel, waterpark and beach club being grouped in the centre and north of the plot.
Mui Dinh Ecopark, Vietnam
Intended as an unrivalled hospitality-led, mixed-use development in Asia, this 728-hectare masterplan is inspired by the rich local history of Mui Dinh. Six resort hotels and a boutique hotel provide a total of 7,000 rooms, with an additional 500 ocean-facing mountain villas. All the residents will have access to many leisure facilities, including an ecological park, a theme park, a casino, a beach club and a mountain clubhouse.
Chapman Taylor’s Bangkok studio prepared the concept masterplan for this striking development, which is currently under construction. The project won ‘Best Futura Mega Project’ at the prestigious 2018 global MIPIM Awards.
Chapman Taylor has in-depth experience in designing a wide variety of resort developments, ranging from large-scale resorts with multi-hotel and residential accommodation to 5-Star resort hotels in major cities around the world. Hon Thi Eco-Islands, Vietnam
The 285-hectare Hon Thi Eco-Islands masterplan will create a beautiful and sustainable eco-tourism destination which will complement and protect the stunning local environment. Spread across Hon Thi and three smaller islands in the picturesque Nha Phu Bay, the scheme will sensitively integrate with the landscape, which includes pristine beaches, clear blue waters and tropical hillside vegetation.
Alongside an organic agricultural area, marine research and innovation facilities and centres for turtle and coral conservation, the development will include a market town offering varied retail, F&B and entertainment options, a 300-bed hotel, 200 serviced apartments, 100 hillside bungalows, a family resort and a luxury resort.
Chapman Taylor’s masterplan envisages a phased construction using locally sourced materials and minimal impact on the site. The development, the architecture for which draws design inspiration from the geometry of the nets of local fishermen, will be powered by renewable energy sources and environmental sustainability will be at its heart - delivering the first zero-waste eco-island in South-East Asia.
MOLO Lipno Resort, Lipno, Czech Republic
The MOLO Lipno resort will be a luxury leisure and residential destination offering 79 lakeside apartments and penthouses with beautiful views over the Lipno lake and the use of the peaceful ‘Zen Gardens’. A 5-Star resort hotel offering a premium spa, a restaurant, a private beach club, a beach volleyball court and underground car parking is also on the drawing board. The centrepiece for the development will be a 120-metre-long timber pier allowing for romantic walks to the heart of the lake, as well as giving access to the heated lake pool.
Lipno is surrounded by the Šumava, or ‘Black Forest’, national park – a stunning ancient forest which is a haven for both flora and fauna. The area, near the Austrian border in southern Bohemia, is ideal for watersports, sailing, hiking, cycling, skiing and horse riding, with numerous other outdoor leisure opportunities.
Chapman Taylor’s proposals for the resort combine a detailed understanding of the needs of the resort’s residents and guests with a sensitivity for the beautiful countryside and lakeside context. We are currently developing tender documents and interior designs for the residential buildings.
Island Paradise Resort, Antigua
Island Paradise is a major new resort on a group of islands in the beautiful Caribbean island paradise of Antigua. The masterplan is made up of four islands of varying size and mainland peninsula areas, with a total area of 36 hectares. All of the sites have extensive coastlines of mangrove and beach-lined waterfront. Guests fly into Antigua and arrive at a stunning reception centre on Barnacle Point before being taken by yacht to the tropical island resorts.
Chapman Taylor created the masterplan concept for Island Paradise, the largest mixed-use development proposal in the whole of the West Indies. It is a key ingredient in determining the future prosperity of Antigua and its status as a world-class destination.

The luxury resort will be located at the southern and western sides of the site, offering an elevated, secluded and beautiful landscape with its own access. Chapman Taylor's masterplan concept was created for T&T Group Vietnam.
Issyk Kul, Kyrgyzstan
A new resort town on a 1,300-hectare site on the eastern shore of the bio-diverse Lake Issyk Kul – once a stopover for traders on the ancient Silk Road. Combining leisure, entertainment, hospitality, education and agricultural production in a landscape sympathetic to the area’s outstanding beauty, the resort is designed to become a major international destination for eco-tourists.
Chapman Taylor developed the masterplan for this multi-use project beside this historically and ecologically significant lake.
Guishan Island, China
Located between Zhuhai and Hong Kong in China, the Guishan Island development envisages two commercial and tourist resorts designed in a manner to respect local culture and environment. Included in the project are hillside holiday villas, a shoreline walkway and a path through the mountains and forests which connect the various resort areas together.
Chapman Taylor provided masterplanning services for this project, which will be used by the local government as a guideline for planning and designing future resort developments in the region. Guishan Island is currently under construction.
