Planning Permission granted for Glasgow Harbour Lifestyle Outlet
Lifestyle Outlets’ exciting proposals for its £100m Glasgow Harbour development were approved by Glasgow City Council on Tuesday 28 January.
The 33,000m² mixed-use scheme will regenerate a prime waterfront location overlooking the River Clyde, within walking distance of Glasgow’s vibrant West End and cultural attractions.
The much-anticipated development will provide a mixture of retail, F&B, leisure, a flagship multiplex cinema and public spaces for events, activities and performances. The scheme is designed to attract people from diverse demographics, with a wide range of leisure options to ensure that the district is active throughout the day and evening
A new footbridge will also be installed, linking Glasgow Harbour Lifestyle Outlet with the Riverside Museum and improving connectivity with the wider area.
Lifestyle Outlets, part of Peel L&P, owns and operates two other successful outlet destinations on which Chapman Taylor is providing design services – one at Gloucester Quays and the other at MediaCityUK, Manchester.
As at Gloucester and Manchester, Glasgow Harbour will deliver a full and varied calendar of events, including live fashion shows, food festivals and markets in the generous public spaces provided within the development.
Chapman Taylor is providing strategic masterplan and architectural design services to Lifestyle Outlets for this development. The development will have a 36-month build program.
