Plaza Norte 2 Shopping Centre refurbishment completes in Madrid
LSGIE owns Plaza Norte 2, a prominent retail hub that has been in operation since 2004. The centre recently underwent an ambitious renovation that was completed in 2024. The renovation modernised the centre's image and significantly enhanced the overall shopping experience, placing our patrons at the heart of our efforts.
The centrepiece of the renovation is the creation of a stunning winter garden designed to provide patrons with a unique and elegant shopping environment. Subtle yet impactful changes in colour schemes across the mall and atriums, coupled with streamlined ornamental elements, are already making a noticeable difference in the ambience, all while minimising any disruption for clients or tenants.
Sustainability is a key focus at Plaza Norte 2. The implementation of LED lighting strategically enhances the atmosphere and supports the overall modern concept, while also demonstrating our commitment to the environment. The central Plaza, known as "La Cúpula," has undergone substantial structural interventions, improving circulation within the building, optimising lighting, and increasing the visibility of shops. This space now offers a relaxed atmosphere in harmony with natural vegetation.
The food court has also been transformed in line with the overarching concept. Emphasising client comfort, the renovated space offers a cosy and enjoyable atmosphere with controlled lighting and reverberation, ensuring a pleasant experience for those spending time there.
Changes extend beyond the interior and include improving the building's overall energy efficiency. Protective measures have been fitted to skylights, and a new layer of thermal insulation has been applied to the entire façade, showcasing a refreshed colour palette. Vegetation has been incorporated into exterior elevations, further enhancing them.
Entrances to Plaza Norte 2 have become more monumental, improving visibility without sacrificing customers' welcoming ambience.
Plaza Norte 2 is crucial to a large retail park housing brands such as Carrefour, Media Markt, Ikea, and Leroymerlin. Its diverse retail offerings include Grupo Inditex, H&M, FNAC, Hollister, Mango, Scalpers, El Ganso, Cortefiel, and Sfera.
With the renovations complete, Plaza Norte 2 is poised to emerge as a cutting-edge shopping destination, seamlessly blending modern aesthetics with sustainability initiatives to cater to the evolving needs of its patrons.
