Residential: Malikha Condominium is aiming to become Myanmar's first LEED accredited building
Malikha Condominium is an ambitious new residential development located in Yangon, Myanmar. It is aiming to become Myanmar’s first LEED accredited building.
The 53 unit luxury condominium will be a first for Yangon in many ways, including: the first LEED accredited building; the first duplex residential units and the first residential Skygardens. The design concept takes subtle references from its historical vernacular and reinterprets them in a modern way.
This development will prove to be a landmark project for Myanmar in raising the awareness of the importance of sustainable architecture.

About Chapman Taylor and Sustainability: As a company we pride ourselves on being sustainability-conscious designers. We draw on a variety of sustainability measures wherever we can, and wherever it meets our client’s requirements. In 2004 we formed a dedicated in-house Sustainability Group tasked with building awareness and knowledge of effective and affordable sustainable design as well as promoting innovative and practical methods of construction and we have also established strong and successful working relationships with some of the best international environmental consultants. Our knowledge and understanding of sustainability has led to the achievement of very successful BREEAM, LEED and other energy performance codes on many of our projects.
One of our projects, MediaCityUK in Salford, UK, was the first development in the world to obtain BREEAM Sustainable Community status.
