Retail: Earthworks complete at Stadtgalerie Weiden

Our studio in Dusseldorf has been appointed to design a city centre shopping centre in Weiden, Bavaria, for Fondara Immobilien AG.

The current working title of the new centre is “Stadtgalerie Weiden” (City Gallery).  This name has been chosen due to the new malls role in connecting the city's network of established high street shops, with the historic city centre and with its high-end retail and F&B.

The Stadtgalerie will replace a former department store and serve a catchment area of c300,000 people. With a GLA of around 20,000 m² and a wide range of retailers it will help reinforce the regional significance of Weiden in Bavaria.

An adjacent new multi-storey car park consisting of 480 parking spaces provides good accessibility to the centre in addition to the existing nearby public car parks, and the close central bus and coach station, and the main railway station.
