Retail / Leisure: Exciting Kazakhstan project is part of EXPO 2017 masterplan

Chapman Taylor, a world-leader in the deisgn of retail and leisure environments, has designed an innovative retail and leisure scheme in Astana, Kazakhstan that will contain the country’s most extensive range of shopping and entertainment facilities. The scheme which is called 'Mega Silk Way' is being built within the framework of the EXPO 2017 masterplan.
Mega Silk Way is already underway and will include restaurants, a food court, cinemas with IMAX screen, Ice Rink around a lake, children’s entertainment areas and an indoor rollercoaster and dolphinarium. A full scale Ferris wheel will also stand outside the building. The centre will be the cities major family attraction as well as acting as an important route for EXPO visitors, and be a symbol of the EXPO after it is closed.
The scheme is due to complete in 2016.
