Sapna Kumar is recognised with a prestigious Indian Government building award
On the 6th of January, Sapna Kumar, Director at Chapman Taylor’s New Delhi studio, was awarded the hugely prestigious ‘Smt. Satya Goel Memorial Award, 2019’ by the government trust run Indian Building Council at the annual India Building Congress.
The award was given in recognition of Sapna’s overall contribution to India’s building profession and to recognise her as one of India’s most eminent female building professionals.
With over 26 years of experience in architecture, Sapna has designed many leading projects throughout the region. She has in her portfolio East Kidwai Nagar, a 35 hectare residential-led mixed use project to the south of central Delhi. East Kidwai Nagar is part of a wider Indian Government programme to develop ‘Smart Cities’. These are sustainable developments where all the architecture, infrastructure and technology, planned and deployed in construction, incorporates sustainable features from the outset.
Sapna also designed the renovation of the Indian Museum in Kolkata, which is the largest museum in India housing rare collections of antiques, armour, ornaments, fossils, skeletons, mummies and Mughal paintings.
On behalf of everyone at Chapman Taylor we congratulate Sapna on this nationally significant award.
