Some of our recent hospitality projects around the world

Chapman Taylor is currently working on the design and delivery of hospitality developments of all sizes and types, across the world. Among our developments are individual hotels and villas through to large-scale, mixed-use masterplans incorporating several hospitality elements. We know how to create an unbeatable experience, keeping on top of the very latest developments and trends in the sector. Here, we look at some of the key hospitality projects Chapman Taylor’s international studios are working on at the moment.

W Hotel Prague, Prague, Czech Republic (Completed in 2024)

A building of authentic historical charm and contemporary luxury in the heart of the Czech capital.

Chapman Taylor oversaw the renovation of the hotel’s heritage areas, although the overall architectural design was collaborative. One of the central design motifs was the concept of the ‘elixir’, a nod to mythical potions of eternal life. This golden elixir theme was infused throughout the property, adding a touch of enchantment from the hotel’s façade to its communal spaces and guestrooms.

In keeping with this magical theme, whimsical references to a ‘fantastical garden’ are woven into the design. The hotel’s entrance flows effortlessly into the reception area, where modern brass metal mesh desks contrast elegantly with Art Nouveau light fixtures. The adjacent atrium, featuring original stucco detailing from 1905 and restored illustrations from 1925, now includes a striking glass installation highlighting the past and present blend.

The W Lounge, the hotel’s social hub, was designed with a central bar framed by fluted columns, inviting guests to relax in a space filled with soft blues, greens, and terracotta furnishings. The Above Rooftop Bar continues the bold design vision with vibrant tile accents, bespoke joinery, and custom-made furniture. Formerly a hotspot for Prague’s elite in the 1920s, the Grand Café was also revived and now features a branch of Le Petit Beefbar by Monaco-based restaurateur Riccardo Giraudi.

W Hotel Prague dynamically fuses Prague’s history with the W brand’s cutting-edge design, offering both locals and visitors a luxurious and enchanting escape in the city.

Future Hotel - Curio by Hilton, Chongqing, China (Nearing completion)

A future-orientated hotel which blends beautiful nature with cutting-edge technology.

Chapman Taylor won a design competition for Future Hotel organised by Chongqing Liangjiang Industry Investment Group. The 50,000m² GBA project, located at the core of Lijia Smart Experience Park, is bounded by Baiyun Mountain to the north, Baiyun Lake Park to the south and the historic Baiyunzhai forest region to the south-west. Chapman Taylor’s design takes advantage of the beautiful location to create a contextual, smart hotel for the Curio by Hilton brand which will blend nature with cutting-edge technology.

The development, which will serve business and conference guests as well as tourists, will provide visitors with a personalised experience and a smart, efficient and healthy environment. Facilities will include a banquet hall, a conference centre, a fitness centre, an art-themed, all-day dining restaurant, a Chinese restaurant and private hillside courtyard suites for VIPs. There are also beautifully landscaped common areas for events and socialising, with interactive art installations and an entrance plaza. An automated check-in service will use AI facial recognition technology, while a virtual "butler" will be assigned to the guest after check-in, recording guests' preferences and guiding them to an automated shuttle to the rooms.

Hotel Indigo Coventry (Open January 2024)

Storytelling, by design

The 4-Star Hotel Indigo features 101 guest rooms and a high-end restaurant with a versatile private dining and meeting room facility.

Chapman Taylor designed the architecture and interiors for this upscale boutique hotel.

Our design infused Coventry’s DNA; celebrating the city’s journey from medieval roots to its role in the 20th-century music scene, immersing itself in the city's rich heritage and vibrant cultural setting. Memorable layers of narrative were distilled into 3 whimsically interpreted schemes ensuring guests discover something new on each visit. The Lady Godiva themed suites even have a hidden Peeping Tom to find.

Le Meridien Sioni Lake Resort & Spa, Sioni Reservoir, Georgia (Ongoing)

A luxurious new resort set against the stunning backdrop of the Sioni Reservoir

Located just 50 km from Tbilisi and close to Tbilisi National Park, the resort will transform Sioni into a year-round tourist destination. The complex will include a Le Méridien hotel, residential villas, and serviced apartments, all supported by comprehensive infrastructure.

The Le Meridien Sioni Lake Resort & Spa will feature 2,500m2 of indoor and outdoor pools; an aquapark and an outdoor hot spring pool; a 3,000m2 spa, wellness centre, and fitness gym; a banquet hall accommodating 550 people; conference rooms and terrace; five restaurants, a bar, lounges, and cafes; an open-air cinema and amphitheatre; a children’s entertainment area; a winter garden; a helipad; a 3 km boulevard along the lake with walking and biking paths; tennis, basketball, beach volleyball, and soccer fields; paddle courts; a fishing area; and a zip line.

Chapman Taylor designed the resort masterplan and architecture and is acting as the lead architect and coordinator of all design disciplines.

Bumrungrad International Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand (Ongoing)

Designing for wellbeing and a sense of luxury at Bangkok's world-famous International Hospital.

Chapman Taylor has designed several areas of the Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok, considered one of the top ten healthcare tourism destinations in the world and the largest private hospital in South East Asia.

Among the hospital’s provisions, we have designed a sports clinic and rehabilitation centre, a dental clinic, a behavioural clinic and several shared public spaces such as corridors, toilets and other areas.

The main aim was to create the look and feel of a 5-Star luxury hotel, using natural materials, neutral tones and soft textures while ensuring the design met the highest standards for a clinical environment. Edges are rounded, joints are seamless and surfaces are continuous, preventing the accumulation of dust and bacteria.

To further promote wellbeing among the patients, we used a light colour palette and soft, diffuse light, which help create a sense of both relaxation and happiness. A selection of custom-made artworks along the corridors and bespoke details such as golden wall guards, skirtings and furniture instil a sense of luxury.

Chapman Taylor has been working with leading names in the healthcare sector to design hospitals, clinics and wellness resorts in Asia, particularly in Bangkok, to which people from all over the world travel for sophisticated and luxurious care.
