Three Asia-Pacific Property Award nominations for Chapman Taylor’s Shanghai studio
Three projects designed by Chapman Taylor’s Shanghai studio have been shortlisted for the 2020 Asia Pacific Property Awards.
Jinan Changqing Shimao Square has been shortlisted in the Retail Architecture category, Vanke Xi’an has been shortlisted in the Mixed-Use Architecture category and Linyi MixC has been shortlisted in the Retail Interior category.
Located at the busy crossroad intersection of Qinghe Street and Fenghuang Road, the Shimao Square project creates the first large-scale commercial complex in the busy Changqing district of the Chinese city of Jinan. The 50,726m2 scheme, designed by Chapman Taylor for Shanghai Shimao Co. Ltd., includes shopping centres, commercial blocks, apartments and a small office building. The development will create a landmark commercial centre, serving the rapidly developing city and the wider region.
The development will provide a new commercial heart for this part of Jinan, providing a shopping, entertainment and social destination which also pays tribute to the region’s social history and beautiful landscapes.
The Vanke Xi’an project, which has a total floor area of 176,000m2, will create a vibrant, five-floor community shopping centre in the city’s Weiyang District, offering a sustainable and exciting retail, leisure and entertainment experience suitable for all age groups. The shopping centre will offer a new signature image and brand identity, combining a wide range of shops with entertainment activities and healthy living.
The development is designed to ensure smooth commercial circulation, with a biophilic, ecology-themed interior design and a relaxing, landscaped roof space in which shoppers can enjoy the outdoors. The completed scheme will also include two high-rise residential towers and another residential building.
The Linyi MixC mixed-use development has is located in the centre of Linyi, the largest city in China’s Shandong Province. The mixed-use project includes retail, F&B, offices and residential apartments. The 101,300m2 GBA development is spread across six floors.
Linyi is known for being a major centre of China’s diamond industry, as well as for its exquisite calligraphy – our interior design concept drew inspiration from both to create a visual representation of the area’s culture and history.
