Year end highlights: Another successful year for the global Chapman Taylor Team
We are pleased to report that once again, Chapman Taylor has had another successful year. Our 2015 highlights include:
Key project wins
We have won a number of prestigious design commissions in 2015. We have won major projects in Azerbaijan, China, Spain, Russia, and Turkey. In Germany, Chapman Taylor were unanimously chosen by a design jury in a prestigious international urban design competition to create a new town quarter within the medieval town centre of Aachen, Germany. In the UK, we are designing and delivering two new buildings at MediaCityUK.
Team and Company Culture
Chapman Taylor is a people-oriented practice and we truly believe that our employees talent and commitment are the key to our continued success. For this reason we continue to invest in initiatives that help foster creativity. To this end we organise regular international design, sketch and photography competitions, offering our global employees the chance to showcase their individual creativity. We encourage and support many office social events including sporting events between our international offices.
Strengthening our Sector expertise
Our core work portfolio continues to focus on the residential, retail, leisure, hospitality, and the office sector. As part of our desire to strengthen our expertise in these sectors three new Directors have been appointed to help support our studios internationally.
Strengthening our Network
We have a strong network of design studios across Europe, Asia, Central and Southern America, and The Middle East. We have entered into strategic relationships with two of the most prestigious and respected Middle East engineering companies. We have formed associations with award winning EHAF Consulting Engineers and for projects in Qatar and with PRIME Engineering Consulting Abu Dhabi and Dubai. This brings our international network of studios to 19.
Sustainability research and development
As a company we pride ourselves on our social, economic and sustainable approach to design. As such, we continue to research new building techniques and materials to lessen our environmental impact. Earlier this year we published the results of a research study we conducted into ‘offsite’ construction methods in the residential market.
Awards won
In 2015, we won ten leading design awards to add to our list of over 200+ awards globally. These included:
*'Best of the Best’ designed Shopping Centre in the world award for Trinity Leeds at the ICSC VIVA RECON Awards.
*Best Office Architecture in Asia Pacific for Bestech Headquarter’s at the Asia Pacific property awards.
Looking to the year ahead
For all these reasons 2016 looks to be another promising year for the global Chapman Taylor team.
Seasons greetings from all of us at Chapman Taylor
