An office with a healthy ambition
Chapman Taylor’s concept design was selected following a competitive process to select a scheme for the new Bupa HQ in the North of the UK. Occupying a prominent waterside location and adjacent to the award-winning MediaCityUK, the building is the largest single occupancy building in Manchester.
Health and wellbeing was at the core of the design brief and we have designed light open spaces, fully glazed façades with a large central atrium that creates a vibrant working environment within. Circulation stairs are finished to a high standard with natural daylight to encourage staff to get active and stay healthy.
Façade designed to protect from the sun as well as retain waterfront views
A striking brise soleil wraps the southern faces of the building to create shade and avoid excessive solar gain, whilst maintaining views out across the water. The ground floor opens out onto landscaped areas linking to the waterfront.
It will be a sustainable, energy efficient building that is designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent.
3D Bim technology
The building was designed using 3D BIM from the outset, creating a sustainable design that is fully coordinated with the specialist design consultants involved.
Chapman Taylor is appointed to complete the detailed design and delivery of the tenant’s bespoke CAT B fit out, creating a turn-key solution that the tenant can move straight into.
